Peppermint arvensis, also called field mint or corn mint, has a strong menthol content, around 42-55% menthol, which gives the oil its powerful cooling properties.
Peppermint is antispasmodic and commonly used to clear the head and relieve head-tension, as well as to support a healthy digestion.
It is very energising and uplifting, and is good for healthy energy levels, as well as being useful for shock and to help soothe pain.
It is excellent to revive and refresh tired feet.
Peppermint essential oil deters pests, rodents, spiders and insects, and is antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral.

Peppermint essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the flowering herb.
100% pure peppermint essential oil – nothing else is added.
Blend 5-10 drops and add to a bath.
Mix 5-10 drops with water to use in an oil burner.
Mix 6-10 drops with hot water as an inhalation.
Patch test before use on the skin.
Peppermint oil blends well with benzoin, eucalyptus, marjoram, lemon, lavender and rosemary.
Safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding when used within the guidelines.
Not suitable for children under 3 years old. For children 3-6 years old, diffuse or apply topically up to 0.5%. For children 7+ years, follow the standard guidelines for children (see chapter 6). Do not apply to or near the face of children.
Contraindicated for those with cardiac fibrillation and those with G6PD deficiency, possible risk of neurotoxicity. A choleretic. Patch test before use. Do not take internally unless prescribed.
